Hello! My name is Anya and I am a self-proclaimed food enthusiast. This is a simple website designed to allow me to practice writing about food and recipes in the attempt to achieve my dreams of writing cookbooks or in the ideal, becoming the next Jonathan Gold.
I will be providing recipes, my weekly menu, and thoughts on various restaurants that I try on this page. If you like the stories that come with food blogs, this is not the place for you. I will note, I also won’t be providing too many photos especially not of the places I try. Cooking/baking/drink making is an art and I dislike photographing another’s art without express permission.
I am currently an attorney practicing in Los Angeles. However, prior to this, I was a Food Chemist at Harvey Mudd College. My thesis was in flavor encapsulation and has been published in Food Chemistry in December 2017. During the summers of college, I worked as a compounder (i.e. one who designs artificial flavors) and worked at Drexel’s Culinary School doing research on low acrylamide tortilla chips and assisting in teaching cooking classes.
